gracious n generous singaporeans

been almost close to a month since the tragedy in jap. at such times, it seems inevitable tat there'll b some form of fundraising.. not sure how much has been raised by the sg red cross alr but i'm sure its pretty alot. anw personally i've yet to giv a single cent. doubt i will actually.. becoz unknown to most, majority of the money raised wouldnt b directed to the jap authorities immediately.. the least they nid now is money, wad they nid r food, water n other neccessities. dun forget they can print all the money they nid.. as for the money raised, if i'm not wrong its held by the src n they'll only dispatch them in batches for their rebuilding.. so i dun really c the point giving.. despite tat, i hav to say tat the amount raised by us is definitely quite a lot.

however, does tat make us a gracious n generous population? i'm afraid not. u see, its not about how u behave n response in the special moments tat define u. its how u behave in each n evry single day. juz take the train or bus when its packed during the peak hours, actually u might not even get to board. haha. tats right. each n every single one, rushing for seats, rushing n pushing to board, not moving all the way to the rear when on board a bus juz because they r "guarding" beside their fren or tat its a better spot where they r. its almost definite tat the middle n the rear of the bus will b spaced out while the crowd at the head will b packed to the max. tats juz the way singaporeans r. dun giv me the bullshit tat we r caring. the only reason y fundraisers r such a success for charities is tat we noe tat we suck n therefore try to do the easiest task to get some good karma. fuck you, singaporeans. so fucking self-centered n selfish. all with tat "evry man for himself" attitude. evry do good oso coz wan to get karma.. in the immediate aftermath of the jap earthquake, there were the reports about ppl forming orderly queues for trains n such. shld such a thing occur here, all i can say is i hope those frail or elderly r not out there, getting their lives squashed out of them. face it, we r not tat angelic. its only a matter of time b4 we get wad we deserve.. n now u noe y there's a "singaporean" under my "dislikes" tab. ha.

got a very interesting offer of internship for this hols. going to apply for it n hopefully i'll get it. maybe this will b the turning point of my future. after 5yrs of bioscience, mayb its not wad i wan. hope i dun forget n miss the deadline. =x
